Alan J. Neubauer

Alan J. Neubauer passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 at his rural Westfield, Wisconsin home at the age of 68 years. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 18, 1958 to parents Lester and Shirley (Ninke) Neubauer.

The family moved to the Westfield area where Alan attended the Westfield High School. He was a member of the graduating class of 1976. Alan attended technical college where he took coursework to prepare for his longtime career as an appliance repairman.

In 1982 Alan started a 31-year career with the former Adams-Marquette Electric Cooperative. As an appliance repairman he would troubleshoot and service home appliances. He also sold and delivered new appliances. Nobody was better at helping customers understand the operation of their new appliance. Alan retired from Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative in 2013.

Alan was perhaps best described as a somewhat private person with a great gift for conversation. It was easy for him to strike up a conversation with a total stranger to discuss most anything on their mind. His good humor and sharp wit were always present. For several years Alan offered DJ services for wedding receptions and community events. Mixed in his music playlist were well-known theme songs from TV shows and movies, along with commercials from the 1960s and 1970s. Everyone knew the words and would smile and gladly sing along.

Throughout his life Alan enjoyed outdoor sports including snowmobiling, boating, hunting and fishing. He had an appreciation for old cars. Alan jokingly referred his home repairs as the perpetual project.

Alan is survived by his brother, Gary and Ruth (Schabacker) of Lodi, WI; nephew, Wade and Kristi (McCann) of Plain, WI; niece, Andrea (Ness) and Jamie McMahon of Centerville, MD and several extended family members. Alan was preceded in death by his parents.

Ask his high school classmates, coworkers or anyone who knew him; Alan will forever be remembered as a good friend willing to help anyone in need.
