Amy Elizabeth Thalacker

Amy Elizabeth Thalacker, age 70 of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

Amy was born to James and Marion Deadrick on September 25, 1955 in Wadsworth, IL. After losing her father at the age of nine Amy was given her first pony, Red, and the bond she developed with him led to a lifelong love of horses. She spent several decades showing horses on the dressage circuit and continued to work and volunteer at regional area shows for many years after. She also boarded horses at the farm she shared with her husband of 35 years, Ken Thalacker.

Amy was a spirited soul who enjoyed her life and the family she had built. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. They truly were her pride and joy, and she was a presence in all of their lives. She was an avid reader who volunteered for the Friends of the Ethel Everhard Memorial Library. During the colder months Amy bowled at Thal Acres, and even went on to roll at state a time or two.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marion Deadrick, and brother Kevin Deadrick. She is survived by her husband Ken Thalacker, son Aaron (Cassie) Weigel, daughter Jessica (Jon) Congdon and their children Lauren & Brady, daughter Tara Weigel (partner Andy Walsh) and their children Jonah, Zuri & Bevyn, son Tristan (Amy) Weigel, stepson Kevin (Nicole) Thalacker and their children Evelyn & Lila, stepson Josh Thalacker (partner Crystal Gray) and his children Isa & Brittan, stepson Jonathan (Shannon) Thalacker, sisters Sue Hawkins and Sally Coffelt, brother Tim Deadrick, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Amy’s life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Thal Acres from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Friends and family are all invited to come and tell stories, laugh, and remember the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
