Anna Buchanan

Biography Anna Marie Buchanan, age 88 of Montello, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Montello Care Center. She was born on August 16, 1920, Township of Packwaukee, daughter of the late Raymond and Cora (Leonard) Barron. Anna married William Salzwedel in 1938, he preceded her in death in 1956. She married Roland Priske in 1958, he preceded her in death in 1982. Anna was later married to George Buchanan in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She graduated from Montello High School in 1938. Anna worked at AMPI, Portage, Montello Products, she operated Ann’s Farm Market and was a supervisor at Gatzke Farms. Anna was a loyal member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montello and the church choir.
Survivors include four children, Roy (Marlie) Salzwedel, Montello; Mary (Randy) Isberner, Montello, Carla (Michael) Spinnato, Montello and Janice (Michael) Kollaszar, Crandon; 24 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three sisters, Josephine Kallenbach, AL, Joanne (Willard) Hamilton, Westfield and Margaret Klawitter, Montello; two brothers, Gordon (Celine) Barron, FL and John (Jean) Barron, Ashland; former daughter in law, Judie Brown, ID; other relatives and friends. Anna was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Coleman and Sandra Krueger; three son in laws, Robert Kollaszar, William Coleman and James Isberner; three grandchildren, Kimberly and Rodney Isberner, John Krieger; one great grandchild, Tristan Potts; special friend, Ralph Gemoll; three brothers, William, Raymond and Harvey Barron; two sisters, Joyce Kallenbach and Flora Krueger.
A funeral service for Anna will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Montello with Rev. Peter D. Zietlow officiating. Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery, Montello. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Memorials would be appreciated to St. John’s Lutheran School.
