Anna Schaad

Anna M. (Thiry) Schaad, age 101, of Westfield, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Montello, Wisconsin.

Anna was born in Niles Center, Illinois to Peter & Catherine Reitz on November 16, 1912. She married Joseph H. Thiry on March 17, 1931. Anna & Joe had three daughters, Margaret, Jeanette and Evelyn. Joe passed away December 30, 1948. Anna married William Schaad on June 18, 1966. Anna & Bill moved from Winnetka, IL to Westfield, WI in 1980. Bill passed away December 9, 1985. Anna has resided at the Montello Care Center for the past seven years.

She enjoyed family gatherings and was always ready for a party. Anna had a wonderful smile and generous heart. She liked to play cards with friends and family. Anna also liked a good polka. She looked forward to her monthly calendar coloring. Her favorite flower was a carnation.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Margaret Heeres, of Westfield, Evelyn McClendon of Florida, grandchildren, George (Gail) Heeres Jr., Eldon (Barb) Porter, JoAnn (Steve) Ahlstrom, Linda (Jim) Hart, Cynthia Brunson, Kim Grippo, Larry (Sheri) Grippo, Christine Porter, 29 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Anna is preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Thiry and Bill Schaad, daughter, Jeanette Schubbe, sons-in-law, George Heeres Sr., Don Schubbe, Jim McClendon, granddaughter, Carol Newberry, grandson-in-law, Mike Brunson. Anna was the last living sibling of 6 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Private interment will be at Westfield East Cemetery at a future date.
