Arden F. Bandt

Coloma

Arden F. Bandt, age 89 of Coloma, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital.  He was born on February 24, 1934 in Coloma to Fred and Anna (Janke) Bandt.  Arden married Mary Jane Buchanan on May 3, 1958.

Arden graduated from Westfield High School. He was employed at M & I Bank in Westfield for 27 years holding serval positions, retiring as President and CEO in 1992. After his retirement from M&I he went on to work for Montello State Bank running the branch bank in Westfield as Vice President for 7 years. He finished his banking career with 1st National Bank of Berlin.

Arden was a life-long member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Coloma serving as President and working on many committees of the church. He was a charter member of the Coloma Lions Club and has been a board member and held the position of President at least 3 times. Arden served as Village President of Coloma for a number of years and served as the Coloma Parks Board Chairman.  Arden served on the Public Relations Board member for the Oxford Correctional Institution and the Tri-County Economic Development Corporation holding the position of President.

Arden was a member of the Coloma Fire Department since he joined as an 18-year-old while in high school in 1954. He had served as President, Chief and was a Certified Emergency Medical First Responder.

Arden enjoyed traveling west, golfing, basketball, fishing, snowmobiling, playing farkle, euchre or any type of card or dice game, and spending time with his family.

Arden is survived by his two children, Bruce (Connie) Bandt, Madison and Julie (Peter Karls) Lawrence, Waunakee; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Cassiopea) Lawrence, Ashley (Michael) Lee and Brandon Bandt; five great grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Lee, Bernadette Lawrence-Dively, Xavier and Victor Lawrence; two step great grandchildren, Samantha Duhr and Arthur Feiertag; many other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane; brothers and sisters.

A funeral service for Arden will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma with Rev. Hyunmin Lee of Calvary United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Coloma.  A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield and on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma.  In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Calvary United Methodist Church or Coloma Charitable Association.
