Barbara Hamilton

Barbara Lois (Wheeler) Hamilton, age 78, passed away as a result of Systemic Sclerosis, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 peacefully at her home, in Westfield, WI. Barbara was born in Windsor, WI on July 7, 1935 to Earl and Irene (Hefty) Wheeler. The family soon moved to Oregon, WI, where she graduated from Oregon High School. After graduation, Barbara worked for General Casualty Insurance Company in Madison. Barbara married James Hamilton on April 23, 1960. Together they had three children. After their children were in school, Barbara worked for Brakebush Brothers in Westfield. Barbara was a charter member of New Beginnings Christian Community Church, where she strengthened her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James Hamilton; daughter, Lori (Terry) Temanson, Westfield; daughter, Janna (Bradley) Thew, Viroqua, WI; granddaughters, Emily Clay, Decorah, Iowa; and Olivia Thew, Viroqua; grandsons, Soslan Temanson, Westfield; and Maxwell Thew, Viroqua; one brother, Donn (Kenlynn) Wheeler, Stoughton, WI; sisters-in-law, Nancy Johnson, Grand Marsh; and Lois Hamilton, Tracy, CA; aunt, Connie Hefty, Middleton, WI and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by their son, James Bruce Hamilton (1963-64); her parents, Earl and Irene (Hefty) Wheeler; father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Lorinda Hamilton; sister-in-law, Virginia Wheeler.
Barbara’s favorite times were times spent with her family, enjoying music (especially her husband’s organ playing), attending her children’s and grandchildren’s concerts, playing games with the grandchildren, traveling, cooking and great meals. She loved to tell people how proud she was of her family and their accomplishments.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Town of Westfield. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the dialysis center, Divine Savior Hospital, Portage and Southern Care Hospice, Madison for their loving care.
