Barbara Mortensen

Barbara Ann Mortensen, age 71 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at home. She was born on November 8, 1945 in Madison. Barb married Donald Mortensen on August 14, 1965 in Madison. She enjoyed bowling and gardening before her strokes in 2003, watching the birds at her feeders and ladies night out with her friends from Shopko. Barb loved Lawrence Lake, her view of Teal Bay from her home and especially being on her pontoon with a pole in her hand catching big crappies. She also loved her family and she showed her love at Christmas time when she opened her home to family and friends for a day of food and companionship.

BAM-BAM is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald; two sons, Duane (Beth), Westfield and Matthew (Brenda) Mortensen, Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Mortensen, McFarland and Mandy (Alex) Brown, Madison; three great grandchildren, Lillian and Donald Mortensen and Damien Brown; mother, Ruby Werla, Madison; three sisters, Shirley (Ted) Baltuch, Phoenix, Diane (Jim) Ciezadlo, Westfield and Lauri Hipwood, Deerfield; three brothers, Dennis (Kristine) Georgeson, Pardeeville, Donald Werla, Madison and Mark (Natalie) Werla, Madison; sister in law, Dorothy Dashley, Cincinnati; many other relatives and friends. Barb was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Werla and mother in law, Louise Mortensen.

A visitation for Barb will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield.

A funeral service for Barb will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating.
