Bernice Susan Mittelstedt (Borzick) age 98 of Harrisville WI, died on Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was born on February 26, 1927 in Harrisville, the youngest of 12 children, a daughter of the late Frank and Rose Borzick. Bernice married Edward E. Mittelstedt on October 17, 1953 in Princeton, WI.

Bernice graduated from Westfield High School in June of 1944. She worked at home on the farm for several years and was then employed by Triple A Offices in Green Lake, WI. She then worked for the Social Services office of Green Lake County and later Fabrico Inc. of Green Lake, until marrying Eddie, who was serving in the military during this time.

Bernice then stayed home for 13 years to raise their children before returning to work at Brakebush Brothers Inc., and then later as the Deputy County Clerk for Marquette County.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel (Susan) Mittelstedt of Beaver Dam, WI, Mike (Paula) Mittelstedt of Harrisville, WI, Tom (Linda) Mittelstedt of Harrisville, WI. Bernice and Eddie were blessed with six grandchildren; Ryan Mittelstedt, Erika Mittelstedt, Kari Tomlin, Nick (Lauren) Mittelstedt, Atalie (J.J.) Andersen, Brett (Danielle) Mittelstedt, and five great grandchildren; Noah, Olivia, Sunny, Thalias and Leilani; son-in-law Dave Benson; and many nieces and nephews.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rose Borzick, her husband Edward, and daughter Julie Benson; four brothers, Andrew Borzick, Walter Borzick, William Borzick and Edward Borzick; seven sisters, Josephine Pinkowski, Monica Giguere, Isabelle Piasecke, Cecilia Isaacs, Dorothy MacKeracher, Veronica VanHoose, and Margaret Polivka.

Bernice and Eddie enjoyed yearly bus trips traveling with many friends, organized by Dorff II. Known for her talents in the kitchen, Bernice was an excellent cook and baker, and in her later years enjoyed baking many wonderful treats for her family and many others throughout the community. She was generous and selfless, donating 15 gallons of blood to the Red Cross, an act of compassion that reflected her caring nature.

Bernice will be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit, kindness toward others, and her ability to always see the best in people. She had strong faith and prayed for many, especially her family. Bernice was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Westfield, WI.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Bernice will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield with Father Savio Yerasani and Father John Sylva officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in Harrisville Cemetery.
