Carol Braker

Carol J. Braker, age 71 of Harrisville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 17, 2018.  She was born on July 20, 1946 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Michael and Charlotte (Mallon) Maleck.  She married Kenneth L. Braker on August 24, 1974 in Beaver Dam.  Carol and Ken moved to Harrisville in 1978 and owned/operated Braker’s Northern Bar in Harrisville for five years.  She then worked as a bartender at Dorff’s II in Harrisville and as a caregiver until her retirement.  Carol enjoyed camping, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Benji (Jan) Braker, Westfield; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Josie and Shannon; one sister, Susie (Ken) Scott; four brothers, John (Jan), Bill (Jane), Dave (Karen) and Pat (Patty) Maleck; one sister in law, Nancy Maleck; many other relatives and friends.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Maggie Maleck and brother, Mike Maleck.

A visitation for Carol will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Harrisville followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Blaine Niskanen officiating.  Burial will be in Harrisville Cemetery, Town of Harris.
