Caroline Ruth (Henke) Duesterhoeft of Westfield, Wisconsin, was born on January 16, 1928 in the township of Springfield, Marquette County, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Otto and Dora (Buchholz) Henke. Caroline was baptized into the Christian faith on February 5, 1928 by Rev. Otto Messerschmidt. She was confirmed on August 18, 1940 by Rev. Emil Messerschmidt. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1945. Caroline worked in Madison before she married John J. Duesterhoeft on June 29, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the township of Springfield by the Rev. Karl Reis. They lived in Ripon for 8 years, then moved to Westfield. Church and family were of the utmost importance to her.
Caroline is survived by her husband of 65 years, John, and two daughters, Cathy (Dan) Rohner, and Wendy (Joe) Mangal; four grandchildren, Devin (Alison) Rohner, Nicole (Tyler) Wollert, Michelle Mangal, and Daniel Mangal; four great grandchildren, Connor and Gavin Rohner, and Jameson and Jackson Wollert; one brother, Martin (Betty) Henke; two sisters-in-law, Verla Henke-Bengsch and Edith Duesterhoeft; and many relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter, Hilbert, and Gerhardt Henke; two sisters, Gertie Berndt and Dorothy Schroeder; brothers-in-law, Harry Berndt, Elroy Schroeder, and Paul Duesterhoeft; sisters-in-law, Elaine Henke and Hildegard Henke; nephew, Donald Henke; niece, Susan Kruger; and in-laws, George and Elizabeth Duesterhoeft.
The Lord called Caroline to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at the age of 95. Caroline’s earthly remains will be committed to the ground following the service and they will await the resurrection at the Westfield East Cemetery.
