Cornelia Teske

Cornelia “Connie” Louise Teske, age 93 of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Northview Gardens, Portage. She was born on August 9, 1916 in Wautoma, daughter of the late, August and Ella (Dretzke) Weckwerth. Connie graduated from Wautoma High School in 1934 and attended Waushara County Normal in 1935. She married Harvey T. Teske on September 16, 1937 in New London. Connie later received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, a lifetime in music, a minor in library science and art from UW Stevens Point. She was a teacher for over 36 years and served as Principal at the old Westfield Elementary School for several years. Connie served as organist at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Newton and St. John Lutheran Church, Budsin for over 50 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield where she was active in the choir, evening circle and bible study.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn (Jerry Lee) McDonald, CA and Carolyn (William R.) Laughlin, Westfield; daughter in law, Jill (Larry) Patterson, OK; eight grandchildren, Richard (Kathy) Rumery, Mark (Andrea) Rumery, Michele Ratkay, Victoria Rumery, Dana (John) Thomas, Deborah (Greg) Vandevier, William J. (Samantha) Laughlin, Lawrence Laughlin; 11 great grandchildren; sister in law, Esther Weckwerth, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; son, David Teske; grandson, Tad Teske; infant brother, Lawrence Weckwerth and brother, DuWayne Weckwerth.
A funeral service for Connie will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Ron Riemer officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
