David George Druce

David George Druce, age 90, of Portage, Wisconsin, formerly of Westfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 3, 2025.

David was born on March 23, 1935, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of George and Gladys (Turner) Druce. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon returning home, David moved to Westfield, where he farmed alongside his brother, Phillip, for 46 years. On August 21, 1989, he was united in marriage to Margie (Maas) Ratkowski.

In 2006, David and Phillip sold the family farm and relocated to Saddle Ridge in Portage, where he enjoyed his later years among friends and family.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Margie; two stepsons, Mike Ratkowski (Jennifer Hillard) and Matt Ratkowski (Erica Hill); grandchildren Dillon (Lexi), Levi, and Elizabeth; and many extended family members and dear friends.

A funeral service for David will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield with Deacon Steve Letourneaux officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. A celebration of life will follow at the Saddle Ridge Clubhouse from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Druce Cemetery in Grayslake, Illinois, with full military honors.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
