David Ekkebus

David J. Ekkebus, age 70 of Westfield, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on February 9, 1947 in Mt. Prospect, IL to Eloy and Catherine (Fuhrman) Ekkebus. Dave married Mary Wallace on September 15, 1965 in Lockport, IL. They have lived in Westfield for the past 35 years. Dave was an avid hunter, whether here at home or traveling far away.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary; daughter, Andrea (Steve) Dolgner, Westfield; two grandchildren, Dustin and Hannah Dolgner; other relatives and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel.

A memorial visitation for Dave will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield.

A memorial service for Dave will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
