Doris Marquardt

Doris D. Marquardt, age 88 of the Town of Newton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Patriot Place in Berlin. She was born on June 2, 1927 in the Town of Buffalo, Marquette County, WI to Walter and Emma (Slife) Lange. Doris was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Packwaukee. She attended rural Stalker School and Oxford High School. Doris married Arlie L. Marquardt on May 12, 1951 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake. She worked at Brakebush Brothers before her marriage and later worked there as well as the Golden Horse Ranch once her kids were grown and married. Doris was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Newton. She was active in Marquette County Add Life and Immanuel – Westfield Seniors. She was a devoted housewife who loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include 4 children, Diane (Jon) Schubert, Joan (Gene) Krueger, Jean (Don) Krueger, and Susan (Wayne) Lutz; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Caroline (Ervin) Briese and Catherine (Henry) Rivera; many other relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Arlie; son, Kenneth; infant sister, Lillian Lange; sister, Elenora Juhnke and brother, Edward Lange.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Newton. The funeral service for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Thomas Mickelson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
