Duane Miller

April 15, 1923 — October 18, 2013

Duane J. Miller, age 90 of Harrisville, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Montello Care Center. He was born on April 15, 1923 in the Town of Harris to Louis and Eva (Quinn) Miller. Duane proudly served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He married Lillian Kanneman on July 26, 1946 in Coloma. Duane was born, raised and spent his entire life in Harrisville. He operated the Hydro Power Plant in Harrisville for many years. Duane was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Harris Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion Post #244 of Westfield. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, signing with the barber shop quartet and especially spending time with his family. Duane was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include two sons, Greg and Dana (Joyce) Miller, both of Harrisville; five grandchildren, Rodney, Greg, Kaleb, Jacob and Zach Miller; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; other relatives and friends. Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian in 2002; son, Timmy; granddaughter, Ronni Lynn Miller; two sisters, Elda and Elaine; brother, Marlin.

A memorial service for Duane will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Harrisville with Rev. Blaine Niskanen officiating. Inurnment will be in Harrisville Cemetery following the service with full military honors. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
