Earl Werner

Earl E. Werner, age 78 of Westfield, passed away at his son’s home in Wauseon, Ohio on Saturday, December 26, 2009. He was born on May 1, 1931, Township of Springfield, son of the late Earl and Clara (Otto) Werner. Earl married Iris J. Needham on December 28, 1956, she preceded him in death on November 4, 1973. He was then married to Merle C. Becker on August 18, 1984, she preceded him in death on April 23, 1999. Earl was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Township of Springfield. He drove truck for Brakebush Brothers, Coloma Oil and Crawford Oil. Earl was a past member of the Township of Springfield Volunteer Fire Department and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his special friend, Carol Kocher; four children, Bonnie Werner, Westfield, Larry Werner, MI, Mary Ann (Dennis) Jacobsen, UT and Richard (Sherry) Werner, OH; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, LaViela (Howard) Schwersenska, Coloma; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Earl will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma with Elder Alyson Janke officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Springfield. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
