Edward Carberry, age 73 of Westfield went to be with family and our Lord after a very short battle with brain cancer early on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 3, 1951 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Edward and Hortense (Young) Carberry. Eddie lived in Cambridge until his mother’s death when he was 13 years old. He then moved to Madison where he lived with his sister, Shirley and her family through high school. Eddie attended Central and East High School where he had many friends. He worked for Pre-Hung Doors for many years and enjoyed it very much. Finally, Eddie got into the Madison Metropolitan School District where he worked for 25 years having worked at almost all of the schools. He retired to his and Peggy’s retirement home up north where he loved the land, hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s, being a member of the Town of Harris Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years and having camping gatherings with all the family on every holiday.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Peggy; three children, Rosemarie (Casey) Bormann, Cambria, EJ Carberry (Tiffany), Westfield and Melissa (Mike) Peterson, Dodgeville; eight grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by many close family members and friends.
A funeral service for Eddie will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield with Father Savio Yerasani officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Eddie was a very special man who will be deeply missed for his kindness and love for everyone he knew, especially his family. Peggy, Rosemarie and EJ would like to express their gratitude to the Harris Fire Dept. and everyone who helped in Eddie’s final days.
