Edward Taft

Edward C. Taft, age 83 of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Montello Care Center. He was born on July 12, 1925 in Oxford, son of the late Harry and Mildred (James) Taft. Ed married Nellie Nipe on October 19, 1946. He was a local business owner for many years, owning and operating Ed’s Standard Service and then E & N Self Serve in Westfield. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie; one son, Richard (Donna) Taft Sr., Westfield; two grandsons, Richard (Muriel) Taft Jr., Cedarburg and Michael (Karen) Taft, Pardeeville; three great grandsons, Connor, Jacob and Tanner Taft; one brother, Harlan Taft, Madison; one sister, Carol Haley, Montello; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Taft.
A funeral service for Ed will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the hour of service at the funeral home.
