Elizabeth (Betty) A. Warzynski, age 89 of the Town of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Villa Pines Living Center, in Friendship, Wisconsin, with her family at her side.
Betty was born February 6, 1921 in Antigo, Wisconsin. The daughter of George and Anna (Pekarik) Schmiester. She attended Strasberg Elementary School in The Town of Rolling, Langlade County. At the age of 16 she moved to Illinois and worked as a domestic. There she met Chester Warzynski and they married June 14, 1941, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. They moved to a farm in the Town of Springfield, Marquette County, near Westfield, WI. Shortly after their marriage and raised their family. She loved to garden, polka dance, raise chickens, cook, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her son James (Jeannette) Warzynski of Westfield, WI; daughter Judy (Richard) Hackbart of Ripon, WI; son Robert (Glenda) Warzynski of Coloma, daughter Charlotte (Glenn) Christofferson of Friendship, WI.; and a son in law Russell Zimmerman of Friendship WI; she is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Shelly Popp Kiel WI, Kevin Warzynski Omaha, NB, Elizabeth Leichtenberg Fond du Lac WI, Jacklyn Sigourney Coloma WI, Toni Hattabough , Coloma, WI. Paul Zimmerman Port Washington WI, Mark Hackbart Las Vegas NV, Steve Christofferson Adams WI, Scott Warzynski Encinitas CA, Wendy Finck Verona WI, Melissa Gallert Racine WI, Eric Christofferson, Mason, OH. Troy Christofferson Lodi WI, Jeff Zimmerman Denver CO, and Craig Warzysnki Portage WI. and 32 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Jo Johnson of Sacramento, CA and a brother George (Mary) Schmiester of Antigo, WI.
Preceding her in death were her husband Chester in 1987, a daughter Beverly Zimmerman in 2001, a brother Frank, and 5 sisters Velma Perkins, Marion Reingruber, Emma Spearo, Julie Keating, and Tillie Storelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield with Rev. Michael Richel and Rev. James McNamee officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
