Floyd W. Baker, age 97 of Sebring, FL - formerly of Westfield, was called home to Our Heavenly Father, on August 24th, 2012, from complications due to a fall by his home. He was born July 14th, 1915 to Henry & Julia Baker in Dixon, IL.

He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife of 15 years, Violet “Vi” Danzer Baker of Sebring, FL, formerly of Ohio; his daughter, Jan Teresko (special friend, John), FL; daughter-in-Law, Dorothy (nee Baker)(Joe) Manweiler, Westfield; grandchildren, Cherie (Dean) Kottka, Westfield, Nancy (Paul) Kopach, Coloma, Linda (Doug) Neddo, Coloma, David (Misty) Baker, Endeavor, Rick (Becky) Broeker, IL, Gene (Kim) VonHolten, FL and Harriette (Manny) Gomez, CA; great grandchildren, Sheila (John) Shultis, John(Angie) Kottka, James Kottka (special friend, Catherine Haynes); Danielle and Cody Neddo; Jenelle, Lori, Mindy Kopach, Kari(Kopach) Brinkman; Dawson and Kelly Baker; Trevor, Tim and Trey Broeker; Hannah and Hogan VonHolten; and John Gomez; great-great grandchildren, Donovan Kirby, Kendra Brinkman; Mary, Ruthann and John Jr. Kottka; Kaylee Kottka, Mason and Ashton Nindorf; his extended family of Vi’s who loved him dearly includes: Charles Danzer Jr., Barbara Wagner and Jeff Danzer. He will also be missed by all his wonderful, special friends from the “Fishing Camp” that loved him & called him “Pop”. And his & Vi’s friends from the park where he currently resided, that would stop in to see how he & Vi were doing.

Floyd was active in his church - Spring Lake United Methodist in Florida & looked forward to ushering, visiting with friends & going out to eat afterwards. He loved watching the Packers, watching baseball, working word search puzzles. Up to a few months ago, he & Vi would go for rides on their 3-wheeled bikes. In his younger years in Westfield, he was a farmer, and then moved to town where he liked to tinker, build things & garden.
Preceding him in death, were his parents; brother, Clarence in 1937; son, John in June of 1967; his first wife, Betty in 1959; his second wife, Delores in June of 1997; Violet’s daughter, Vivian Lanthorn( Nurse) & son, Werley Vanover (Paratrooper).

A funeral service for Floyd will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside “Lawrence” Cemetery, Town of Westfield. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
