Gerald "Jerry" Lobby, age72 of Oxford, passed away with his daughter by his side on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at his home. He was born on July 12, 1934 in Oxford, son of Lucille Porter. Jerry was a veteran in the United States Army serving three years with the 411st Chemical Smoke General Company in Germany. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and two Marksmanship Badges in M1 Carbine and SMG. Jerry worked in Westfield as a cheese maker for Alto Dairy Co. and then transferred to Waupun until his retirement. He enjoyed carousing the country side visiting friends and neighbors. Jerry took pride in his trees, watching them grow up to his last day on the property he loved.
Survivors include, one daughter Marcia (Jack) Lee, Packwaukee; one grandson, Parker Lee; two sisters, Gladys (Charles) Hansen, Somerset and Beverly (Russell) Caflish, AZ; ex-wife, Karren Lobby; seven nieces and nephews, Meili, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Randy, Teri, Trish and Michael; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mom, step son, Sean Collins; brother, Rudy Lobby and a sister, Barbara Lovrick.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Albert Huber officiating. Interment will be in Underhill Cemetery, Township of Packwaukee. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. Memorials are appreciated to Budda Box, P.O. Box 91, Westfield, WI 53964. Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Westfield served the family.
