Gladys Krueger

Gladys O. Krueger, age 90 of Harrisville, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Harris Villa, Township of Harris. She was born on February 9, 1919 in Township of Harris, daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Klimke) Thalacker. Gladys was baptized on March 2, 1919, confirmed on November 27, 1932 and was united in marriage to Herman A. Krueger on January 22, 1939 at St. John Lutheran Church, Harrisville. Together they farmed the Krueger family homestead for 38 years in the Township of Newton. In 1976 they built a house in Harrisville where they enjoyed family and friends coming to visit and sharing memories. Gladys was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Harrisville and the Ladies Aid. Aunt Glady will always be remembered for her hard working hands, her sugar cookies and the trips to the Richford store.
Survivors include her sister in law, Mary Jean Thalacker; brother in law, Robert Brannon; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 2002, three sisters, Bernice Brannon, Doris Quinn and Iris Lange; one brother, Vernon Thalacker.
A funeral service for Gladys will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Harrisville with Rev. Chuck Fluegel officiating. Interment will be in Harrisville Cemetery, Township of Harris. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
