Glenna Ellis

June 24, 1928 — January 7, 2020

Glenna A. Ellis passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on the morning of January 7th, 2020. Glenna was born in Lynn, MA to Alfred and Connie Wetmore. She married Robert G. Ellis in 1951 and they were together for 62 years. She graduated from New England Deaconess School of Nursing in 1950 and impacted many lives with her leadership and compassion throughout her long nursing career. She excelled in diverse nursing specialties, including Public Health, Home Health, and as a hospital Charge Nurse at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus and Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, IN. Glenna was an avid reader, knitter, and gardener. She enjoyed round dancing with her husband and played the piano with great skill and passion.

Survivors include 4 children, Catherine (William) Franks, Cindy (Mark) Stahl, Jerry Ellis, and Carolyn (Pat) Mitchell; 7 grandchildren, Nathan Franks, Briana (Patrick) Andrews, Ryan (Allie) Stahl, Carina Stahl, Brandon (Lina) Stahl, Devon Mitchell, and Chase Mitchell; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and her daughter, Eileen as well as her brother, Alfred and sisters, Viola, Norma, and Billie.

Glenna was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her integrity, her sharp wit, and her indomitable spirit.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
