Gordon H. Froling, age 92 of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on January 25, 1923 in Milwaukee, son of the late Morgan and Josephine (Harteau) Froling. Gordon married Dorothy Wulff on December 6, 1947 in South Milwaukee. Dorothy preceded him in death on February 14, 2007. Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Army during WW II. He retired from Kearney & Trecker, Milwaukee and moved to the Oxford area on Goose Lake. Gordon was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed to draw and truly loved his family.
Survivors include his two daughters, Karen (Richard) Gonia, New Berlin and Heidi (James) Benson, Neenah; six grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Huckstep, Adam and Matthew Gonia, Dana (Kunal) Patel, Kelly (fiancé, Shawn Mienholtz) and Jacob Benson; five great grandchildren, Cal, Case and Kadee Huckstep and Asher and Dillon Patel; one sister, Joan Oleszak; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral service for Gordon will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 12:00 (noon) at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Oxford with Rev. Larry Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Village Cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the church.
