Grace Smith

Grace A. Smith, age 92 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Harris Villa of Westfield. She was born on March 21, 1923 in Westfield, daughter of the late Walter and Georgia (Beals) Huebner. Grace attended school in Westfield and then became a licensed beautician, working for over 50 years. She married George “Pat” Smith on November 30, 1947 in Westfield. Upon their retirement, Pat and Grace moved to Westfield where they enjoyed snowmobiling, dancing, playing cards and socializing with many friends.

Survivors include her two children, Bill Smith, Westfield and Patrice (Craig) Lanouette, Racine; five grandchildren, Megan Smith, Rachel (Matt) Marsolek, Michael (Jessica) Smith, Kelli (Rick) Stein and James (Rebecca) Lanouette; five great grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Devon Smith, Jack Stein, Benjamin Lanouette and Gabrielle Lanouette; one great great grandson, Noah Smith; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Pat; brother, Neil Huebner and sister, Betty Long.

A visitation for Grace will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield and on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Westfield.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Janet Ruark officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery.
