Herman Jordan

Herman A. Jordan, age 78 of Oxford, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage. He was born on January 5, 1928 in Milwaukee, son of the late Herbert and Renata (Barkow) Jordan. Herman married Gertrude M. (nee Grimmer) Doberstein on November 26, 1949 in Waukegan, IL. He served in the United States Army as a surgical technician. Herman worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, retiring in 1986 and moving to Oxford. He was a devoted and faithful husband caring for Gertrude until her health no longer allowed him to do so.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gertrude, Wild Rose; one daughter, Jacqueline Jordan, Oxford; two step daughters, Josephine Morstatter, LaCrosse and Jeraldine Doberstein, Portage; three grandchildren, Tim (Laurie), MO, Tom (Michelle), LaCrosse and Mat (Jenny) Morstatter, Watertown; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Krivanek, Packwaukee, Renata (Ken) Quillen, Grafton, Martha Kral, Oxford and Ruth (Ross) Pellerino, Eden; one brother, Arthur Jordan, Athens, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and pets. He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Jordan.
A funeral service for Herman will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Packwaukee with Rev. Brian Rohde officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Township of Packwaukee. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Trinity Lutheran Church.
