Irma Hamilton

Irma A. Hamilton, age 104 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.  She was born on March 2, 1913 in Monticello, WI to John and Nellie (Krueger) Zweifel, the third of four children.  She graduated from Monticello High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  Irma married Thomas E. Hamilton on August 23, 1935 in Monticello.  Tom preceded her in death on February 14, 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Larry) Landry, Kinston, NC; daughter-in-law, Sally Hamilton, Madison; five grandchildren, Robert (Robin) Landry, Becky (Dan) Christy, Thomas (Dawn) Landry, Thomas (Heather) Hamilton and James (Heather) Landry; ten great grandchildren, David, William, and Andrew Landry, Caitlin, Cassidy, Caleigh, and Alexander Christy, and Thomas, Erin, and Jackson Hamilton; four step great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.  Irma was preceded in death by her husband; son, Thomas; one sister, Mildred Hagon and two brothers, Dwight Zweifel and Edward Zweifel; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

A graveside inurnment service for Irma will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Town of Westfield with Rev. Janet Ruark officiating.  Memorials would be appreciated to First Presbyterian Church, 511 S. Main St., Westfield, WI 53964.
