Ivan Quinn

August 1, 1918 — May 29, 2006

"Pete" Quinn, age 87 of Westfield, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006 at Montello Care Center. He was born on August 1, 1918, Township of Westfield, son of the late Benjamin and Leila (Huber) Quinn. Pete married Eloise Kruger on November 15, 1941, Township of Westfield. He served three years with the 959th Air Base Security Unit during WW II being stationed in Iceland. After returning from service he and Eloise spent five years farming in the Township of Westfield. He then moved into the Village of Westfield where he was employed with his brother, Clair, at Quinn's Plumbing and Heating. Pete also worked maintenance for the Village of Westfield until retirement. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield, Westfield's VFW Post 8718 and Village of Westfield Volunteer Fire Department. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially his family.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise; one daughter, Teresa (Fred) Posthuma; four grandchildren, Sarah (Kevin) Lieske, Douglas (Cassandra) Quinn, Katie (Luke) Showen and Kayla Posthuma; one great grandson, Declan Lieske; daughter in law, Terry (Jim) Johnson; three sisters, Doris Severson, Marian Black and Marlene Wenzel; three brothers, Neale (Elda), Keith (Peggy) and Robert (Mary) Quinn; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Howard and Gregory Quinn; three brothers, Clair, Ellis and Eldon Quinn.
Pete's funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield with Rev. William Dow officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Westfield is serving the family.
