Jamie “Jim” Zuehlke, age 60 of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at his home. He was born on January 16, 1948 in Mankato, MN, son of Merlin and LuElla (Mann) Zuehlke. Jamie married Annette Kittmann on April 15, 1989 in Coloma. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jamie was a past member of the Township of Springfield Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Harrisville Sportsmen’s Club. Jamie retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2004 after 20 years. He was an avid hunter and was known for his homemade meat rubs and smoked meats. His other hobbies were gardening, bowling and golf. Jamie just loved life and people in general. He had a very extended family of sons, daughters and grandchildren. Everyone loved and respected his advice, some say he was a gentle, loving giant of a man.
Survivors include his wife, Annette; two daughters, Jamie Lynn (Michael) Gibby, Milwaukee and Jeannie M. (Ryan) Warzynski, Westfield; one son, Donald (Autumn) Zuehlke, N. Augusta, SC; three grandchildren, Morgan Jean and Mason Ryan Warzynski and Jameson Danger Zuehlke; his mother, LuElla Zuehlke, Racine; one sister, Valarie Kruescher, Kenosha; one brother, Daniel (Jean) Zuehlke, Juneau; two brother in laws, Fred (Terry) Kittmann, Madison and Gary Haug, Racine; other relatives and many friends. Jamie was preceded in death by his father, Merlin; sister, Taraesa Wheary-Haug and mother in law, Margaret Kittmann.
Jamie’s family invites everyone to A Time of Remembrance on Saturday, September 20, 2008 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Thal Acres Golf Course, Westfield with a Remembrance Service at 3:00 p.m. which will be followed by more celebrating of Jamie’s life.
