Biography

Jimmy R. Frozene, age 79 of Westfield, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 16, 1937 in Coloma to William and Lila (Bandt) Frozene. Jimmy graduated from Westfield High School in 1955. He married Merna Buchholtz on April 25, 1959 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westfield. Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1961. He worked as a dairy farmer, horse trainer/truck driver and in recent years as a “hobby farmer”. Jimmy was a charter member of the Westfield Lions Club, served on the Board of Directors for Alto Dairy for 17 years, was Horseracing Association Trainer of the year for several years and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as trustee, usher, greeter and on the council.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Merna; one daughter, Tani (Dennis) Crego, Coloma; two sons, Rick (Linda) and Thomas (Penny) Frozene, both of Westfield; three grandchildren which he was very proud of, Jesse and Ryley Frozene, Westfield and Julia Emch, Shell Lake; three step grandchildren, Jared Crego, Coloma, and Branden, Oshkosh and Derrick Mike, Westfield and their families; brother, Robert (Kathy) Frozene, Florida; brother in law, Marlo (Mary) Buchholtz, Westfield; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many many friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Thelma Bruley; nephew, William Bruley.

A funeral service for Jimmy will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westfield with Rev. Gary H. Schultz officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Memorials would be appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Westfield.
