John Blomberg

John “Jack” H. Blomberg, age 83 of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. He was born on April 16, 1929 in Neenah to William and Amalia (Boehlein) Blomberg. Jack proudly served his country with the United States Army and National Guard. He married Nancy R. Nordstrom on October 26, 1957 in Milwaukee. Jack worked at Allen Bradley of Milwaukee for 34 years retiring to Westfield in 1990. He loved living in the quiet woods where he enjoyed cutting fire wood, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and in his later years, watching nature. Jack was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy; five children, Thomas (Tina), Kathleen (Tom) O’Neil, James (Amy), Ann (Eric) Hill and Jane (Craig) Asmussen; 11 grandchildren, Joshua (Megan) Blomberg, Brandon and Marshall Blomberg, Angela, Steven and David O’Neil, Erik, Alyssa and Matthew Blomberg, Michael and Adam Asmussen; three great grandchildren, John, Evelyn and Elizabeth Blomberg; sister in law, Joan Blomberg; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John E.; brother, William and sisters, Joyce and Joan.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Jack will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield with Father David Carrano officiating. Full military honors will follow the service at the church. A private family inurnment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Town of Springfield. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or The Salvation Army.
