John Bruce Sexton

December 30, 1941 — April 29, 2024

Genoa City/Westfield

John Bruce Sexton was born on December 30, 1941, in Kenosha, WI to his parents Ira and Irene Sexton and passed peacefully on April 29, 2024 in Genoa City, WI. John had two siblings, Pam, (deceased) and Sandra. John raised his family in the Wauconda/Island Lake area as well as southern Wisconsin, with his former wife Janice Sexton (deceased). He leaves behind his children John and Michael, and stepchildren Kathy, Patrick, and Peggy, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and lifelong friends. John served as a helicopter mechanic and sharpshooter in the United States Army in the 1960's. John owned a carpet installation business for many years, and also worked as a carpenter. In his mid 40's, John happily retired and moved "up north" to his wonderful Northwoods home and property in Westfield, Wisconsin where he enjoyed his second chapter working in real estate; purchasing, renovating, flipping, and renting homes.  John enjoyed shooting pool at his favorite watering holes with friends while relishing an ice cold Old Style. John’s hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, and woodworking. He rode near and far over the years on his Honda Goldwing, through the mountains, throughout the south, to the west coast, and to Sturgis, South Dakota. He shared many treasured, crafted pieces, such as hope chests, arbors, furniture and shelving with friends and family. Our Dad’s life was full and adventurous. While we grieve his passing, we can only imagine he is on a long ride and fishing with his beloved dog Misty at his side up in heaven. Our Dad's final resting place will be in the place he loved most, amongst the trees in Wisconsin.
