Joseph Patrick Hogan

Joseph Patrick Hogan, age 76 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at his home on Lawrence Lake.  He was born on October 22, 1947 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Veronica (Walsh) Hogan.  Joe married Evelyn Pavlik on October 31, 1969.

Joe fought honorably in Vietnam in the United States Navy Seabee’s. He founded a trade show business and bar in Chicago where he worked with his family for many years. Joe spent time as part owner at Thal Acres Golf Course and Bowling Complex in Westfield.  Following his retirement from the Carpenters Union, Joe spent his time in Wisconsin where he enjoyed life on the lake and traveling with family and friends. He was a loved and cherished friend of many and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Joe is survived by his two children, Joe (Andrea) and Jennifer (George) Milonas; five grandchildren, Anna, Emma, Joey, Matthew and Julia; siblings, Jim (Margie), Pat (Marie), Tom (Kathy), Mary Hogan, Veronica (Joe) Valdez, Mike, Terry, Irene (Bryan) Leopold and Rita (Don) McNabb;  two sisters-in-law, Ginger Hogan and Vicky Silhavy; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Hogan; mother, Veronica Ramey; wife, Evelyn; siblings, Bill, Dan and Kevin; sister-in-law, Sally Hogan; two brothers-in-law, Paul (Rose) Pavlik and Frank Silhavy.

A visitation for Joe will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield.

A visitation for Joe will also be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Rd., Hillside, IL 60162. Funeral to follow Wednesday December 20, 2023 from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 9:00 A.M. proceeding to Ascension Catholic Church, 808 S East Ave, Oak Park, IL 60304. Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated promptly at 10:30 A.M. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
