Joseph Shane O'Kroley

Joseph Shane O’Kroley, age 62 of Montello, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his home. He was born on February 13, 1964 in Madison to Larry and Donna (Shields) O’Kroley.

Joe worked for 30 years with Dane County. He started in food service then as a janitor then finally as a lead janitor. He also served as a union steward. He retired early in 2021. When he was younger, Joe enjoyed camping with his family. He also enjoyed spending time at his country home near Montello and vacationing in Minocqua with girlfriend of 20 years, Paulette Bennet. Cooking was a passion of Joe’s in which he was pretty good at.

Joe is survived by his son, Shane; two grandchildren, Jaxon and Adalynn; four brothers, Mike, Larry, Tom and John; girlfriend, Paulette Bennet; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lee.

A private family gathering will be held.
