Julie Benson

November 15, 1956 — June 6, 2015

Julie Ann (Mittelstedt) Benson, age 58 of Westfield, was born on November 15, 1956, the daughter of Edward and Bernice (Borzick) Mittelstedt. She has completed her journey on this earth and passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from Breast Cancer and Metastatic Bone Cancer.

She was a lifelong resident of the Westfield/Harrisville area. She worked at the Federal Correctional Institution at Oxford Wisconsin from 1980 to 2008. She started as a Unit Secretary and was promoted to positions of increasing authority in her career was a Contracting Officer when she retired. She enjoyed her garden, flowers and birds and was an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan. She was an avid fan of all sports and Coached Softball for the Harrisville Honey Bees and Assisted in Coaching Girls Youth Basketball for several seasons. She loved to Deer Hunt and Fish and had her bragging rights several times.

Julie is survived by her husband, Dave; her daughter, Kari, Westfield; mother, Bernice Mittelstedt, Harrisville, three brothers, Dan (Susan) Mittelstedt, Beaver Dam, Mike (fiancée, Paula Becker) Mittelstedt, Harrisville and Tom (Linda) Mittelstedt, Harrisville; her special uncle, Edward Borzick, Harrisville; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Erika, Nicholas, Atalie and Brett; father in law, Sam Edwards, Brookfield; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Mittelstedt and mother in law, Rose Nelson Edwards.

You walked this journey courageously, you tried, you worked you persevered. Walk to God and walk proudly for the lives you touched and those who loved you! Walk Peacefully Ju Ju, you are no longer in pain, you are still loved and will be missed by all whose lives you touched.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Julie will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield with Father Tim Renz and Father John Silva officiating. Inurnment will be in Harrisville Cemetery, Town of Harris. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Budda Box Against Cancer of Marquette County.
