Kendal Schmidtke

Kendal D. Schmidtke, age 75 of Westfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at his home. He was born on September 6, 1932 in Lime Ridge, WI, son of the late Ernest and Leona (Drescher) Schmidtke. Kendal married Jean Shaffer on March 9, 1953. He served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. Kendal worked at Ray-O-Vac, Madison for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jean; six children, Barbara (Glenn) Schmidtke, Madison, Gary (Judy) Schmidtke, Montello, James (Jean) Schmidtke, Westfield, Steven (Julie) Schmidtke, Sun Prairie, Kendal A. (Fran) Schmidtke, Hancock and Kathy Voiss, Westfield; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn (Millard) Harding and Linda Breed; one brother, Bill (Regina) Schmidtke; his special boys, Shadow and Tigger and all the outdoor kitties; other relatives and friends. Kendal was preceded in death by and infant sister, Kathy Ann; mother in law, Kathryn Shaffer and his best friend, Bear.
