LaVerne Janisch

January 11, 1937 — February 16, 2009

LaVerne D. Janisch, age 72 of Westfield, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 16, 2009 at his home. He was born on January 11, 1937 in Arlington, WI to Carl and Dora (Pribbenow) Janisch. LaVerne attended Rio High School and graduated from Columbus High School in 1955. He married Mary Lou Corning on January 25, 1958 in Briggsville. LaVerne served in the Army National Guard from 1954 to 1959. He worked in Columbus for 11 years before moving his family to Westfield in 1970 where he continued working for Westfield Equipment for 15 years until his retirement. Following his retirement he started his own business in Westfield called the Wood Shop which he operated until the end of 2007. LaVerne was a former member of Westfield Volunteer Fire Department, Westfield Lions Club, Westfield Whitetrackers Snowmobile Club, Westfield Village Board and he was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield. He enjoyed wood working, bowling, fishing, gardening, camping, snowmobiling, deer hunting and most of all spending time with his family, especially attending the various sporting events of his grandchildren
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Lou; four children, Ricky (Maria), Friendship, Belinda (Phil) Parker, Pardeeville, Scott, Saukville, Kent (Amy), Coloma; 11 grandchildren, Joseph (Rachael) and Austin Janisch; Jeremy (Stacey), Jacob (Jennifer), Jordan (fiancée Lindsey Daniels), and Jonathan Parker; Emily, Brian and Casey Janisch; Seth and Tanner Janisch; four great grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Addison and Alexander Parker; two sisters, Arlein Herman, Lodi, Dorothy (Haydn) Rees, Fall River; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Howard and James Janisch; one sister, Mary Anders.

A funeral service for LaVerne will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield with Rev. William Dow officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
