Lee H. Acker

Lee H. Acker, age 85 of Town of Harris, passed away suddenly from complications during a medical procedure on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 23, 1941 in Milwaukee to Harold and Fern (Jaeschke) Acker.

Lee was a member of the American Legion and Westfield VFW, where he proudly served as the chaplain for both organizations. Lee loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones and starting his mornings in his garden. Lee proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War as an aviation mechanic. When he returned from his service, Lee worked as a mechanic at Falk Corporation for over 40 years.

Lee is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol; two children, Linda (Andy) Matson and Ron Acker; four grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) and Tyler Matson, Alex and Troy Acker; great granddaughter, Emma Matson; sister, Sharon Haberichter; brother, John Acker; sister and brother-in-law, Jean (DuWayne) Zuelke; sister-in-law, Lois Groskreutz; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Larry Acker and brother, Bruce Acker.

A memorial service for Lee will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Full military honors will be performed by the Westfield Honor Guard following the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Sheldon Cemetery, Town of Harris at a later date. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
