Louis E. Rudolph Jr., 59, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 in North Dakota, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 9, 1967, in Burlington, Wisconsin, to Dianne and Louis Rudolph, Sr.
Louis graduated from Westfield High School with the Class of 1985. In June 1986, he began his career with the Westfield Police Department. On March 10, 1987, he was appointed Chief of Police, a position he proudly held until the fall of 2018. Throughout his remarkable 30-year career in law enforcement, Chief Rudolph earned the respect of countless colleagues and community members through his integrity, leadership, and commitment to protecting and serving others.
Outside of his career, Louie found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle who treasured every opportunity to be with those he loved. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and nearly everything the outdoors had to offer. His passion for conservation and outdoor education led him to become deeply involved in organizations including Harrisville Sportsman’s Club, Hunter Safety Education, the Wisconsin Conservation Congress, and numerous other community groups. In his later years, he enjoyed membership at Napoleon Country Club and Napoleon Wildlife Club in North Dakota.
Following his retirement from law enforcement, Louis continued serving his community through his work with Logan County Concrete/Gross Construction in North Dakota, where he built many valued friendships before concluding his career.
Louis is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Rudolph; his mother, Dianne; his sister, Anne; his children, Grant (Marina) Rudolph, Jessica Garcia, Mitchell Rudolph, and Mason (Sarah) Rudolph; his niece and nephew, Jacob and Megan Garcia; and his cherished grandchildren, Delilah, Kamdyn, and Madisyn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis E. Rudolph, Sr.
Louis will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dedication to public service, his passion for the outdoors, and, above all, the love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the community he faithfully served, and the values he instilled in those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A private celebration will be held at a later date.
