Lucille Streich

Lucille Margaret Streich, age 79 of Montello, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Metta Homes in Montello. She was born on October 4, 1933 in the Town of Newton, daughter of the late Henry and Minnie (Abraham) Juhnke. Lucille married Ervin Streich on June 20, 1953 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Newton. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Budsin where she was a Sunday School and VBS Teacher, served as financial secretary and was in the Mary Martha Guild. Lucille was also a member of the Budsin Learn and Do Homemakers Club for over 20 years. She worked hard on the family farm growing crops, milking cows and raising animals, especially poultry. In 1990, Lucille was awarded Farm Bureau Women of the Year. She was a great cook and enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers and bird watching. Lucille, by nature was a giving person. Her generous heart and love for her God, church, family and anyone in need was demonstrated throughout her life. She will be missed deeply by everyone.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Ervin; three children, Dennis (Connie) Streich, Joanne Streich and Cheryl (Dan) Troost; five grandchildren, Michelle (Curt) Nummerdor, Mara Streich, Kevin (Taryn), Chelsea and Mackenzie Troost; one great granddaughter, Isabelle Nummerdor and another one on the way; one nephew, Ken (Lynette) Streich; other relatives and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Juhnke and granddaughter, Rachael Streich.

A funeral service for Lucille will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Budsin with Rev. Dale Boening officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Budsin. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Memorials would be appreciated to Alzheimer’s Association or St. John Lutheran Church, Budsin.
