Mae Galbraith

Mae Galbraith, age 92 of Harrisville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at her home. She was born on October 21, 1916, Adams County, daughter of the late Marshall and Esther (Pease) Vant. Mae married Donald R. Galbraith on September 28, 1937 in Iowa, he preceded her in death on January 1, 1977. She was a past Girl Scout and 4-H leader. Mae was a member of the Harrisville Homemaker’s and enjoyed working annually at Brat Fest from its beginning. She worked for the Montello School District in the Green Thumb program for 28 years.
Survivors include three children, Rochelle (Walter) Brudnowski, Neshkoro, Dwight (Roberta) Galbraith, Harrisville and Keith (Roberta) Galbraith, Township of Newton; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great grandson; other relatives and friends. Mae was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service for Mae will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. Interment will be in Harrisville Cemetery, Township of Harris. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to New Beginnings Christian Community Church Building Fund.
