Margaret (Daye) Bittelman

November 29, 1939 — April 1, 2021

Margaret E. (Daye) Bittelman, age 81 of Westfield, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior after a year-long battle with cancer on Thursday April 1, 2021. She passed very peacefully at the Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Margaret was born November 29, 1939 in Wautoma, WI to Albert and Martha (Groskreutz) Pomplun. She graduated from Wautoma H.S. in 1957. In 1960, she married the love of her life, David D. Daye at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Margaret worked in accounting at the Waushara County Hwy Dept. for several years until David and her moved out to the Daye Family Farm outside Budsin/Neshkoro. Together they raised their 3 children, Dean, Dennis and Debra until David passed away in 1978. Margaret belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma for many years and has been a member at Immanuel Lutheran in Westfield since 2000. In 2000, she married her 2nd husband, Gilbert Bittelman. Later on in life, Margaret had worked for Northland Home Health until she retired in 2004.

She loved her church friends and families and was very active as a Sunday school teacher, involved with the Ladies Aid & the Marquette County Homemakers Club and enjoyed her time spent with the Evening Circle. She was the best jello salad contributor to any gathering. Her love for family and especially her 4 grandkids was so deep, she was so proud of them. She loved to travel into other countries as her 3 kids were older. She took great pride in attending and watching her children and grandkids sporting events and playing cards with her family was one of her favorite - not to mention all the polka dances David and she traveled to.

Margaret loved being a wife, mom & grandma and simply taking care of and being on the Daye Family Farm. She would say a full and blessed life!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Martha Pomplun; the infant triplets; the love of her life, husband David; 5 brothers and sisters; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; her 2nd husband, Gilbert Bittelman and step-son, Charles Bittelman.

She left behind 3 children, Dean Daye (Jodi Krueger), Neshkoro, Dennis (Kim) Daye, Westfield, Debra (Christopher) Kline, Baraboo; 4 wonderful grandchildren, Ashley (Travis) Kilmer, Justin Daye, Zachariah and Levi Kline; sister, Liz Winkler, Fond du Lac; brother, Laverne (Mary) Pomplun, Berlin; sister-in -Law, Lucille (Robert) Bartel, Wautoma; step-son, Donald Bittelman and his family and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
