Margaret Schatzke

June 1, 1915 — March 12, 2008

Margaret B. Schatzke, age 92 of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage. She was born on June 1, 1915 in Westfield, daughter of the late Reinhold and Lillian (Miller) Hintz. Margaret graduated from Westfield High School and its teachers training program. She married Harley Schatzke on June 25, 1936 in Westfield, he preceded her in death on August 11, 2005. Margaret was a life long member of Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield and of the Springfield Homemakers for 47 years. She worked for General Telephone Company for 10 years and then was employed at Brakebush Brothers as a supervisor of the cutting room for 16 years retiring at the age of 65. Margaret enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Ginny) AR, Rollie, Madison and Jack (Joyce), Tomahawk; four grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Anderson, Julie (Tom) Reed, Greg (Kelly) Schatzke, all of MN and Tanya (John) Witt, Luxemburg; seven great grandchildren, Marc and Meghan Anderson, Justin, Tyler and Abby Reed, Drew and Alexandra Schatzke; four sisters, Adeline Comello, Racine, Hazel Pelleieteri, FL, Grace Mack, NC and Shirley Johnson, Madison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Margaret will be held on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Westfield with Rev. William Dow officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
