Marlene Booher

October 13, 1935 — October 22, 2012

Marlene L. Booher, age 77 of Westfield, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at her home. She was born on October 13, 1935 in Portage, daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Gerbitz) Schmidt. Marlene was a graduate of Portage High School and Milwaukee Accredited Beauty School. She married Rodney Sommers on April 2, 1955 with whom she had two children. She has worked for Myron’s Beauty Shop, Portage, Diane’s in Pardeeville, Waitressed at Aleda’s in Pardeeville, Wyocena Nursing Home as an Aid and Michigan Fruit and Friday Canning. Marlene was a member of Rosedale Ladies Aid and Homemakers. She married George Booher on November 25, 1983 in Randolph. Marlene’s hobbies were crocheting, crafts, working in her flower beds, puzzle books fill-ins and find a word’s.

Survivors include her husband, George; two children, Greg (Marcy) Sommers and Linda (Robert) Glasgow, both of Pardeeville; three grandchildren, Krista (Joe) Stark, Jaron and Shelby Glasgow; other relatives and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Schmidt.

A funeral service for Marlene will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield with Pastor Barb Merwin officiating. Burial will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

A special thanks to neighbors, Bill and Sue for all the garden produce, Sue’s baking and Bill’s meals. To two special friends, Mary Sommers and Charlaine Parsons for the cards, thoughts and prayers. The staff from Home Health United Hospice for the care to keep Marlene at home. The Budda-Box Against Cancer, Sunshine Club and those that helped George so he could be at home with Marlene.
