Merlin “Mert” D. Hauser, age 81 of Oxford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 28, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1933 in the Town of Douglas, Wisconsin to Joseph and Irene (Byers) Hauser.

Mert is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Joyce; two sons, Joe-D Hauser, Oxford and Marc (Theresa) Hauser, England; four grandchildren, Daniel (Cory), Cole, Jaclyn and Matthew; three great grandchildren, Austin, Montana and Daniel Jr.; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother in law, Ione (Ron) Lawrence and his brother, Harlan Hauser.

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mert will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville with Father Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Inurnment will be in Oxford Village Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
