Mervina McMahon

December 31, 1914 — June 25, 2007

Mervina A. (nee Volk) McMahon, age 92 of Westfield, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007. She was born in Plain, WI on December 31, 1914, daughter of the late George and Delia (Fargen) Volk. On June 13, 1932 at St. John Catholic Church, Spring Green Mervina was united in marriage to John M. McMahon, he preceded her in death on November 19, 1982. She was a graduate of St. Luke High School, Plain. Mervina worked as a waitress for 43 years for several eating establishments in the Westfield area. She enjoyed the endeavor of horse racing with her husband, John and their sons. After retiring from waitressing she enjoyed traveling with her daughters, Shirley and Sharon. Mervina greatly enjoyed being with family members and having family gatherings at her home. For many years she enjoyed the daily mass group at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Westfield. Mervina will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include her four children, Terrence (Nancy), Union Grove, Shirley (Bruce) LeRoy, Madison, Brian (Cheryl), Franksville, Sharon (Alan) Abraham, Madison; son in law, Fred Morgan, Wisconsin Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two sister in laws, Kathleen Grady, Baraboo, Wilma Bartels, Portage; one brother in law, Patrick (Frances) McMahon, Briggsville; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey Morgan and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 11:30 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Westfield. Interment will be in Westfield South Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at church. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
