Biography

Michael “Mike” Ingram, age seventy-one of Harrisville, WI, went to eternal life with the Lord on April 8, 2011 at Divine Savior in Portage, Wisconsin.

He was born on March 14, 1940, in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Jack and Eleanor (Schneider) Ingram. In 1951, Mike’s family moved to a farm near Harrisville, WI, where he spent the rest of his life. He served his country with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. On October 29, 1960, Mike married Phyllis Frank of Harrisville. They have a son, Jay Ingram (Yong Suk) of Harrisville and a daughter Juliann Ingram (Terry Kube) of Westfield, WI, and four grandchildren: Joshua and JeAnna Ingram, and Nathanael and Daniel Kube. Additionally, the Ingram’s provided foster care for numerous children and operated New Life Christian School in their home for thirty years.

Mike was a member of the Harris Fire Department, Harrisville Sportsmen’s Club, and the Harris Pond Lake Association. He was a dedicated public servant serving with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department, the County Highway Department, and twenty-two years with the Federal Correctional Institution at Oxford, Wisconsin, where he retired as an Employee Development Manager in 1995. In retirement he continued his public service by serving the Town of Harris and Ward 2 of the Town of Westfield on the Marquette County Board from 1996 until his death. He was dedicated to his family and believed the truest expression of Christianity was sharing their home and resources with those less fortunate, as he recognized that the grace of God was abundant in his life. Although he didn’t attend a traditional church, he was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and lived his life based on Christian principles. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with Phyllis and his family.

Mike requested that there be no mourning for his death, rather a celebration of his life. A family celebration of life will be held on Father’s Day.
