Mike Yunto

February 13, 1969 — July 9, 2025

Westfield

Michael “Mike” A. Yunto, age 56 of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. He was born on February 13, 1969 in Beaver Dam, WI to Henry and Carol (Bender) Yunto.

Born in Wisconsin; Mike spent his early teens in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. These two cities held a special place in Mike's heart and it was always a dream of his to go back.

In his late teens, Mike came back to Wisconsin where he later settled down in Fox Lake alongside his mom, Carol. Mike and Carol were partners in crime. They traveled the states, trying new food, seeing new places, and finding trouble. Mike was devasted after her passing.

Mike met Aimee Sanwick in 2000; they married Sept. 22nd, 2007. Aimee brought along two young daughters who Mike proudly raised as his own. Mike believed Aimee put the stars in the sky. They bought a house together in Westfield, Wi in 2005 where they settled down and built their life.

In his adult life, he enjoyed fishing, computer games, and talking about the good ol’ days. He liked RC cars, loud cars, good music, and powerful guns. He was an extrovert who would chat up anyone with ears. But nothing compared to “bummin’ around.” He would round his family up into the family Ford and take off.

Mike worked many jobs, but driving was his favorite. He spent the last decade of his career driving truck for the railroad and agriculture trucking companies.

Mike suffered from several ailments that left him disabled in the last years of his life. But through it all, he had an amazing wife, two hysterical daughters (and sons-in-law) and a grandson who kept him going. Of course, his two hound dogs, Daisy and Violet, who kept him company. Mike believed his family was the best there ever was. Mike cared not for the things he didn't have, but the things he did. Mike loved his family.

Mike is survived by his soulmate, Aimee; two daughters, Micayla (Stephen) Cecil and Emily (Trevor) Cecil; grandson, Jack Wayne Michael; siblings, Carol (Mike) Vigue, Kevin (Brenda) Yunto, and Vicki Sprague; mother-in-law, Linda Sanwick; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Yunto, Carol (Dick) Gensmer; brother, Henry “Squeak” Yunto; niece, Lucci; nephew Joey, and father-in-law, Richard Sanwick.
