Mitchell Schmidt

Mitchell Alan Schmidt, age 14 of Westfield/Redgranite, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was born on October 11, 2001 in Portage to Joshua and Penney (Berg) Schmidt. Mitchell had a big personality and a love for life. He was energetic, outgoing and had a personal mission to make you laugh or smile whether it was with his bad singing or horrible jokes. Mitchell had a passion for the game of football, wrestling, fishing and hanging out with his friends.

Survivors include his mom, Penney Schmidt, Westfield; dad, Joshua(Carley) Schmidt, Redgranite; brothers and sisters, Marshall, Kitana, Miranda and Kayden; grandparents, Elaine Berg, Westfield, Linda Schmidt, DeKalb, IL and Randy and Sandy Becker, Westfield; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Berg and Gil and Susan Schmidt.

A funeral service for Mitchell will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Community Church, Westfield with Pastor Terry Temanson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Inurnment will be in Westfield South Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
