Ronald Lee Polacek, age 76 of Westfield, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at UW Hospital, Madison. He was born on October 2, 1932 in Berwyn, IL, son of the late Jerry Sr. and Helen (Kroc) Polacek. Ron moved to Wisconsin in 1946 to Sunset Point Resort on Pleasant Lake where he helped his dad operate the resort. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1950. Ron married Martha Wruck on June 10, 1961. Over the course of his life he worked as a route salesman for Westfield Dairy and Roma Pizza. Ron then worked as a semi driver for Plainfield Trucking and Brakebush Brothers, which he enjoyed the most. Throughout his life Ron continued to enjoy the Pleasant Lake area deer hunting, spending time at the farm with family and collecting antique cars and tractors.
Survivors include his wife Martha; three sons, Michael (Christine), Reedsburg, Jeffrey, Westfield and Paul, Wisconsin Dells; two grandchildren, Spencer and Cody; one sister, Lorraine Kordiyak, Oconto; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry.
A funeral service for Ron will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Westfield with Rev. Ron Riemer officiating. Interment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home, Westfield and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
